 "Alone With You" - Arz               Musical Analysis by Amber Dennis


Alone with you was a really catchy tune for me when I first heard it. It begins slow with an electronically processed voice, then a guy comes on and does some talking and begins rapping. This song is R&B. I noticed that this song has two rhythms, one that is slow and the other that is faster, both matching the beat of the song. 

Lyrics - This song is about a guy who sings about his love for a girl. He wants to keep her and hide her in his treasure chest meaning he wants her for himself. He explains how he's never felt this type of love for anyone before and that he just wants to be Alone with her. 

The rhythm and lyrics are two elements of this song that make it unique and to my liking. I like how the rhythm is both fast and slow and the lyrics are made to sounds like he just loves his girl and nothing could compare to anything like her. The connection he has made with his girl is so special and means more than just just sex.

Both of the vocals in this song are attuned and run smoothly throughout the song during the transitions between rhythms.

It has gained my attention by my relation to the lyrics and the catchy melody- it is written in D major. The song starts out slow and steady with what sounds like an electronically processed voice then later Toosii begins singing. This song is a romantic, heartbreak, healing, and unlearning toxicity in relationships. As someone who has experienced love loss, this song quickly caught my attention and has helped me understand that holding standards for myself, and especially raising kids has set the bar up high.
